DMCD Songs: I Didn’t Think It Could Be – Andrae and Israel

So I’m on a little bit of an Andrae kick at the moment, and I’m not sorry about it.  He is a pioneer that has blazed a trail to allow so many to share the gift of their brand of gospel music with many.

One of those beneficiaries has been Israel Houghton who himself has done his thing on a scale that is setting the pace in itself and allowing others to be blessed by his thing and stimulated to explore and express their love of God in their own way.  It’s good then to have the chance to share Israel’s take on the smoothin’, groovin’ Crouch tune that was done live back in the days when flairs and Afros were all the rage.  (Those under 30 years of age apparently need to refer to Wikipedia for the whole Afro thing.)

I remember hearing the song and thinking, wow, how smooth, how groovy and what a great way to encourage people to tell this powerful gospel message that we have not just heard but has changed our lives and people need to be told ‘you will never know it’s true until it happens to you’.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
