Stingy people. Ever come across them? Eager to keep stuff to themselves. Conveniently never have anything to offer in the hope that they can amass it for themselves. The wisdom of this proverb is profound. It is not just material poverty that they will reap, but emotional and relational poverty. This is where the flipside wisdom comes into its own that states it is better to be generous, because givers never lack to give. The truly rich are marked by their generosity.
