A sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven people who answer discreetly. (Proverbs 26:16)
There is no one beyond the reach of God. As long as you’re human, God can reach you. Having said that, although God can reach them, it is sometimes the case that the efforts of mere mortals will not reach some people. The sluggard is not someone the writer of Proverbs admires at all, and one particularly flawed aspect of their character is their self-justification. Deluding yourself can be so powerful at times, it takes a lot to get people to see otherwise. Be aware then of the sluggards and consider if discretion is dear to you.
