What a month this February was. Historically these months are notorious for how quick they pass, so much so that I hardly count them as a month in themselves but just a pit-stop between winter and spring. This February, however, has felt like the longest February I have ever lived through. Changes in family arrangements and having to take more of a hand in looking after our Zoë young has called me to invest more time and energy in that area and as God informs me through these circumstances, I only have so much time and energy to give.
Nevertheless miraculously, He has allowed me to complete the month’s project on insights in Matthew and I have learnt so much from it that is already reshaping my behaviour and challenging what I’m doing for the sake of the Kingdom. In the light of that and the current family responsibilities, you may notice some changes to the regularity of posts on the blog. Since about this time yesterday, it’s been my aim to have two daily posts on here – a short one in the morning and an extended one at some point in the evening. I have been so grateful for the time and energy to be able to do that, but I recognise that this is not always possible. So rather than put myself under pressure to achieve that at the cost of other more important things, I’m happy to commit to at least one post daily. If there are two, then that’s great, but it’s not so much a demand as before.
Over the month of March that one post will focus on the chapter from Proverbs for that day as you would have gathered from this morning’s post. To read more on where the March Thru Proverbs idea comes from read this link. It has become evidently even more in need now in the light of the truths found in the gospel according to Matthew to live by godly wisdom. There could be some more stuff exploding from that series, but I hope to share those right here.
March sees the end of winter officially and it also reminds me of the build-up to something big which April usually is as the proper start of the new year. It’s a time to tidy up and clean things in preparation for that hive of activity and I remain excited by the opportunities that I can manage to pursue and those that await just around the corner.
More Prayer Points are coming in and hopefully by month’s end it will have it’s own page to catch up on what’s been going on in that area both in terms of the nature of requests and the responses gleaned from God. The heart and importance of prayer is reinforced in considering Kingdom concerns and the need for wisdom in that. We are conduits of prayer, whether the requests in our brokenness and areas of need or the responses in what we serve to others so it’s all the more crucial to offer and respond as we are led, so I’m hoping to keep that ticking along.
One prayer request that remains is for the Dryden Family including me parents and siblings, but of course particularly me household where the beautiful daughters continue to grow and experience new things and engage with teh ever changing dynamics that affect their parents. My hear’s desire is to be an example to them and for them that leads closer to Christ – your prayers would be appreciated in that regard.
Thanks as ever for your continued support of the blog in reading the articles that are posted. The viewing figures for the month of February were among the highest that the blog has ever received so I am truly grateful for that. The deal is to continue to improve here as much as I can and hopefully provide more food for thought to help you on life’s journey.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
