Jesus Christ, Superstar. Typing those words, let alone saying them, immediately conjures up the song of the musical on which it’s based. Some have issues with its portrayal of the Messiah and some of those issues could very well be valid. For the time being, however, I’m asking you to consider this musical rendition of Jesus’ time at Gethsemane and his arrest. Compare the musical deal with the Matthew reference in chapter 26:36-56.
