Over the month I’ve had the pleasure of posting songs from the Worship in the House album which this year celebrates its 15th year anniversary. Keith Staten is a singer I admire a great deal love his range and emotion he evokes in his singing. That helps a great deal whether singing an upbeat song like Jehovah Jireh or slower meditations like I Just Want To Be Where You Are and Praise Looks Good On You and then praise tributes to the Lord like You Are Awesome In This Place.
The songs raise again the heart of worship being the pursuit of Christ. This song uncovers what the real deal is behind that beatitude that says blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. This is not about doing, it’s about the pursuit of a being. Where that pursuit is a thirst that is not quenched by anything other than the manifest presence of God in Jesus Christ. It’s no surprise then that near the eve of the first gospel study that this song – the last in the tribute to that album – underlines what is the driving motor of discipleship.
