DMCD Songs – Oh the Glory Of Your Presence

The act of bowing down before one that is greater than you remains one of the most humbling acts that can be done.  I know it was one of the things that was interesting about all the formalised expressions of church that I witnessed.  Rare was the time when actual bowing down take place – literally and in the figure of how people behaved with each other.  Almost as if our pride would forbid us to show us putting ourselves in a low position.  I know I was too proud – and that is why the love of Jesus penetrated so deep to get me to bow and bow low.

This is one of those songs that nudged me to bow and bow low.  For when considering the awesome glory of the presence of the Lord I am again reminded of how unworthy Isaiah felt in the presence of God as the angels cried holy.  I am reminded also, though of the magnanimous and gracious act of Him cleansing me by the blood of the Risen Lamb and establishing me to now love and worship Him and adore Him and thus be fitting as a dwelling place for His Spirit and thus His presence.  That is a corporate reality – and it is an individual reality.

That is why this song above so many others really grips me and moves me to do what it says on the tin – worship.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
