But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4, 5)
What is it to redeem?
At birth you belong to your parents, without them you have no existence or identity.
What would happen if you were taken from your parents? What if you were sold into slavery that robbed you of your identity? You would need someone who could pay the price to bring you back.
Jesus pays the price for those sold into slavery of sin and subject to the taskmaster who brings death. These have by His blood been brought from death back to life.
Praise God, they are redeemed to where they belong as children of God.
