I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:14, 15)
Jesus knows His own and His own knows Him. That level of relationship goes beyond rituals and formalities and strikes to the heart of the very purpose of being. When you are known and you know someone, you know what it takes to keep that relationship going. As the Good Shepherd, protecting and enabling His sheep, Jesus paid the ultimate price for the sheep to live on.
Now His sheep need no other Shepherd, for they know Him, they hear Him and follow Him wherever He goes.
They know Him – He knows them.
For His Name’s Sake
