Jesus Is … The Lord Of The Sabbath

The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27, 28)

Miscommunication is not difficult.  Something can be said and before too long its original meaning can be completely lost.  When the Pharisees picked on Jesus’ disciples for corn picking on the Sabbath, Jesus used the opportunity to get the message straight when it came to the Sabbath.  It is a tragedy that since He left this message, it appears to have been lost in translation, and so people miss the blessing of the day of which He is Lord.  Fulfilling and exemplifying the merits of the day, let us follow the Lord of the Sabbath into His promised rest.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
