For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45)
God’s history of turning the underdog into the big dog is etched across the Old Testament, highlighted in the rise of David. One moment a shepherd boy in the back of beyond and the next the anointed king of all Israel. Yet never is the contrast seen greater than when the King of Glory, the Son of God takes on human form and in claims no luxuries, but endures suffering to the point of the Cross itself. Nevermore proving to be a suffering servant and yet triumphant example of mankind than in His title as the Son of Man.
For His Name’s Sake
