Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30, 31)
What an amazing claim – not that you are a messenger from God, but that you are of God, that your parentage is divine. Yet Jesus Himself doesn’t just talk it, but proves it. That link as one who knows Sonship and yet as one who connects us with the divine has huge implications both for life and understanding origins. That He is the Son of God, establishes an importance to Him to make us stop and pay attention. To see His acts even to this day, should make us stop, bow down and worship Him.
