We Are Not Ashamed – Karen Clark-Sheard

It’s not that long before a very key date in my calendar and so in the run-up to it, I feel it’s only fitting to pull out some of the big hitters from what I enjoy and I don’t think it gets too much better than this.  Karen Clark-Sheard ably accompanied by Mary Mary putting their vocals around one of the most crucial gospel songs of my youth the maestro Andrae Crouch’s We Are Not Ashamed.

So the cosmetics are covered in quality, but it’s the depth of this song that continues to take me back to the basics.  If you don’t need saving from anything and you’re alright as you are then you can carry on your merry way.  Recognising eventually that I was in desperate need of saving and then having the information given that there is but one way that I could be saved then it made sense to relish the fact that it is the gospel of Jesus Christ that has the power to save.  Nothing to be ashamed about that – though it’s not that straightforward conveying that to others who claim to be of a similar persuasion.

In any case those are the facts as far as I am concerned and it is brilliant to be reminded of that in such a glorious song.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
