CD Songs – Save The People – Andrae Crouch

Lately I’ve been digging through the corners of my mind. (Not that my mind has corners, I’d like to think my mind works in the round, but I’m taking literary liberties for the purposes of this here statement)

So while I was digging I came across me old favourite Andrae Crouch.  You know he’s probably the first gospel artist I remember making a big deal out of.  To have remembered his name was something with the amount of gospel music lying around on taped cassettes and no idea who the artists were.  I remember for some reason the home having a fair few Andrae Crouch albums and as the Christian cliché goes, he really blessed my soul with his music.

As I grew older and had some spending power I was keen to get me hands on his discography and came across the Don’t Give Up album.  I’d love someone to do a proper biography on Crouch and get insight into what made him the artist and person he became and how he wrote the songs he did and formed the albums he released and shaped his life the way he has.  It would be a most fascinating story just on the strengths of the songs he released.

Yeah I could go for the standard classics The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power or Through It All or everyone’s favourite My Tribute (To God Be The Glory).  Yet on that Don’t Give Up album was this beauty of a track which more than ever is a great cry to God to do something to the state of humanity as it is.  Thanks be to God in Jesus Christ and His church He continually answers that cry – but it shouldn’t stop us from making it.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
