I’m not writing this LIVE. When it comes to a Friday evening, sometimes I just prefer to do what it says on the tin (my tin, not yours, it works for me, doesn’t have to for you) and just rest. It’s the end of a working week, it’s a time to relax in the knowledge that no exertions are required for at least 24 hours – and that’s not a bad thing, that’s a good thing. (Dear DDP, thank you for that catchphrase.)
It occurred to me in all the rush and hurry of life and that kind of stuff that I forgot to give an update on exactly what was going on with me and the move and stuff. As I understand it, the last you read of me if you went by the stuff here, I’d moved as in relocated from my previous place of abode in Little Hulton to Somewhere Else. I never did tell you where that else is did I? You are aware though from another blog that I did move jobs as well and am currently working Northampton for the same training company as I did in Wigan.
Although I work in Northampton, however, I don’t live in the town. It is good to be here though, so close to ‘home’ and engaging with customers that come from me hometown of Wellingborough. Oh it brings back memories. Although I’m not living in Wellingborough either … not yet anyway. (He says ominously – is it part of the Dryden Masterplan to return from whence he came? Only time and God will tell … maybe I will as well, but you never know.)
I am now living in the relative new town/city of Milton Keynes. Yes that’s right the concret monstrosity that seemed like a good idea at the time is the new place wherein the Dryden family now resides. Bletchley to be precise, but it’s all MK apparently. This week sees the end of our fourth week in the new area and so far so good in terms of getting used to things. We’ve already established a good rapport with our near neighbours, so that’s been very useful and we’re not that far away from the crucial amenities.
The story behind getting here is one you would definitely want to hear … but not quite yet. Just to mark this virtual month period with a raised glass of ginger beer in thanksgiving to God for all His benefits to us as we’ve endured another traumatic move. His grace and mercy allows us to celebrate this time of rest with a roof over our heads, food to eat, clothes to wear, a bed to sleep in – hey even a television to watch and that is a luxury for which I’m grateful to God. We’re together as a family which is another blessing and furthermore I’m closer to my brother and his family and we can see each other regularly which is a great thing.
All in all for the many trials and tribulations it has taken to get here, we are here and that is all thanks to God.
Now, back to that Ginger Beer and the time of rest.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
