Not that long ago I put on a song by Mr. Smith and referred to a song he did which I really loved. This is that. Do I love anything better than the Lord’s guide to prayer? Not really. Everything is encapsulated in this from acknowledging to requesting to confessing to relationships vertical and horizontal and this all done on the basis of being Kingdom-minded. You could get the impression that Jesus really wants to take the Kingdom that seriously.
There are older and different versions of the prayer which I enjoy, but this version really caught my attention, not for the ‘oh look I can do Graceland’ feel of the song, but the richness in it and the diversity that makes it a song that I can hear at the beginning of the day, the middle of the day and the end of the day and it still sounds right. Like the prayer itself. Very good stuff from Mr. Smith.
