Safe and Sound

Recently I was having a go at the term ‘good luck’.  From time to time I come across phrases and sayings that tickle me silly for one reason or another.  I think of them and then think a bit more about them and get a quizzical look on my face that slowly changes to bafflement and then bemusement before contenting itself with mirth.

This is not one of those blogs on a phrase that causes a similar amount of mirth as ‘good luck’.  I was just looking to put together an entry about where I am movements wise, that’s all I was looking to do, then I came across that phrase ‘safe and sound’.  It’s an interesting sentiment isn’t it.  There be nothing out of place and I do not feel in anyway threatened by circumstances.  Well as I’ve mentioned on a number of occasions now, the whole moving shenanigans is one of the best way to send me into fits of frustration, anger, tetchiness, moodiness and general ‘it not good to be around DMCD’ type of feelings.  So the safe bit might apply, but the sound bit isn’t quite in place yet.

Have I got a story to tell you about the whole moving thing on this occasion … it is a belter.  On that particualr choice of word, I’d also like to thank Wigan for giving me the term ‘beltin’ to suggest something is of positive value, merit and worth or meets with the approval of the speaker.  I’m not sure if it will stay in the Dryden memory like ‘snappin’ does from my time in Stoke-on-Trent, but it is certainly a worthy contender for the Dryden lexicon.

So yeah the story is a beauty … but will have to be saved for a more opportune time.  For the time being I can report that the Dryden Family are in Milton Keynes.  We’re in a house to make our home.  We’re fairly near the train station which will be good for the journey I must needs take to work.  The girls have done well in the move. I’m really grateful to God for that.  It’s just for the settling in bit now to kick in.

The next step on the journey now is to settle into work … well at least make a start and that my dear reader begins tomorrow … should the Lord see it fit to spare my life and resources.  So all being well I’ll give you the report on my first day of work and may shed some light on The Incredible Moving Journey.

Until then, in case you were off the hook with the praying business … you’re not.  I need it – we need it now more than ever.  So whatever you can spare in the way of petitions to the Creator for the Dryden Family to settle well in the area will be gratefully received and I’m sure answered as well as time passes by.

Right-o, lets hope that we get to the place where I can look around and say it’s all safe and sound.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
