I love songs that explore the workings of the writer in their relationship with God.
Praise songs that identify characteristics of God are great and have their place, but often they can become somewhat routine and fall under a kind of rote memory exercise. When you’re listening to someone’s heart pouring out their relationship, there’s something that grips the personal and take on the journey transcendent to consider God’s desire for His people.
Marcus Cole, I find to be a hugely underrated gospel artist. Yeah, I said it, hugely underrated. He’s getting props here and there, but for what he does with a song and what he does in creating a song he should be getting more credit than he does. He’s also evidently one of those people that bounce back from being in a group like Commissioned and still do his own thing in his own right. Got a lot of time for the guy, as I have a lot of time for this song both the album version and the moving rendition he did on a PTL on TBN. Worth sharing.

I just came across this, not sure when it was written but I want to thank you. It’s always an encouragement to keep on in the direction I’m in when I come across such a well written review of one’s heartfelt work.
Sincerely Marcus
Dear Marcus – a delight and a treat to have you leave a comment on here. All the very best with the Soul Preachas initiative and everything else you find yourself involved with at this time. I look forward to reviewing more of your material as and when I am in the position to listen/watch it.
