I am convinced that often in my daily life – perhaps too often – I glory in something other than Jesus. I take delight in something other than the Cross. Left to my own devices I lose track of the real deal and get caught up in the slipstream of the banality and mediocrity of the stuff that’s not of Christ. So I remain in perpetual gratitude for songs like these that remind me of how I came to be in this glorious story of salvation, reconciliation and love. I thank God for men like Larnelle who can convey this message with such heart and depth to impact the memory and soul to return to Christ.
