Yeah there’s the Jesus stuff which is very important to me. There is the church stuff, which is also very important. There are the ideas that knock around my head on other issues to talk about (for example I’m thinking about a series on All My Working Life). Yet from time to time it’s just good to blog freestyle. Just share what’s going on and the like.
Well what is going on is that I’m enjoying being a father for the third time. Yes it is trying in the night time still and I am getting tired more often, but honestly it is such a joy to watch the ups and downs of the early life of our precious third daughter. In fact her presence helps me to appreciate her older sisters all the more. Deborah and Abigail have been enjoying their half-term holidays and I’ve often been amused by their antics and their carry-on. I am so pleased that our precious new born girl is surrounded by such a cloud of good sisters.
Even as important decisions are being made, there is nothing like going through it with my beautiful bride. Did you know it’s five days until a very special celebration in our time together? Of course you did. So we have that to look forward to and I must say that my love for her now is greater than it has ever been.
Work has its challenges … but the people who I work with are all fascinating individuals. I take great pleasure in working with them and already a number of them have made their way into my heart in a significant way. (Yes, Rob, Martin, Jen, Ross and the Don I’m talking about you!) Sometimes the intriguing working conditions can be alleviated by the colleagues on the journey and that is definitely the case in this situation. I am incredibly humbled and honoured to be working with such fantastic people.
There is much for me to be grateful for and I am.
