I believe in the power of prayer, because it is inextricably linked to the power of God. It is ongoing communication with God and it works. By works I don’t mean it as the magic genie that grants all the wishes. I mean it as that vital element of life that allows me to share my heart with God honestly and go onto hear His heart dearly through whatever means He sees fit.
I have seen people miraculously healed because of the power of prayer – from migraines and heartache, to serious back pain and other ailments. Greater still to witness others engage with Christ having been witnesses of the gospel and accepting it for what it is and seeing lives amazingly transformed all by the power of prayer. Or more accurately through the power of prayer as the expression of God in His multi-faceted ways.
Prayer isn’t a cure all – but it is access to the All in All. Watching this reminded me of the reality of prayer as vertical relationships that affect and strengthen horizontal relationships. I know I wouldn’t be who I am today without the prayers of many for me. I know the love of God shed in the hearts of others for me has been overwhelming and caused me to love more – love others and love God in the light of prayers answered because He loves us. I hope you likewise are challenged and inspired by it.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
