He That Dwelleth – Daryl Coley

I am a big fan of scripture in song.  I absolutely love it.  For me it’s one of the best ways of committing scripture to memory.  The thing of hearing the song and hearing it again and then realising that it’s pointing to scripture and so you can dedicate it to heart with the trigger of the music as well.

What’s a great bonus about this song as well is that the lyrical content is pointing us back to where we belong.  Although I’m prone to wander astray, He often reminds me that to escape the ills that would befall me it would be in my best interests to stay under His covering.  At that point I chuckle at people’s references to covering.  In as much as I respect the need to get support form mentor figures and the such-like, the covering being offered throughout scripture is covering under the wings of the Almighty.  Developing that relationship at those close quarters is the things to be cultivated in whatever other key relationships we have in life.  For it’s not under the shadow of anything else that I’m assured safety.

Daryl once more does an outstanding job in his vocal rendition of these biblical, spiritual, godly truths that are an aid in all times.  You see when you’re going through the thick of it and it appears as though the promise in the Word is not being fulfilled, there is something reassuring that the context that God is looking out is not as immediate as our own and what we consider to be harsh and painful today is another step in life’s journey that under His wings allows us to walk through a lot safer than any alternative.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
