The Ongoing Quest Of Getting The Balance Right

Getting the balance right is something to be very conscious about.  There are many demands on your time, some put on you by others, some put on by yourself, some that appear urgent and important and some that appear not to be the case but actually they are.  I recognise that life being lead by God is about the constant desire to strike the balance right.  That does not mean having everything the same – that’s just not possible, as it’s not possible to love your children the same or treat all your friends the same.  They are different and so require different approaches which cannot be measured to be exactly the same.

So I appreciate there are seasons where sometimes there are seasons where certain things will take the dominance and I have to roll with that.  So for the time being, for example the focus is on adjusting to family life with the new member who requires constant supervision and attention.  That changes things, but at the same time I don’t want to neglect other very important areas of my life and in this new era, I want to continue being productive with creative outlets as well as anything else, and that is what is jeopardised most with Zoë’s demands and subsequent follow-on demands from the other females in the household.

It’s a good challenge to deal with, but it is a challenge, so don’t be surprised if I’m not as prolific as I have been with items of late.  I’m hoping that this will continue to be adjusted as the family gets used to what new life means.

Typing of which, I am still very much into developing the series on new life which has a bearing on the whole topic of balance.  I was thinking about other people’s struggles in their Christian lives and the challenges they find from within however long they’ve been following Jesus.  It lead to a question I hope to be answering in a future entry – what’s so new about the new life?

There is also a post I have to put in the light of recent events to do with politics …

In the meantime keep remembering the Dryden family in your prayers as we love God and our neighbour by His grace, for His glory.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
