I’ve been banging on about faithfulness fairly often this year and I guess for good reason. In a time when everything dear to me has been put up for grabs and uncertainty is the only certain thing in my life, appreciating the quality of faithfulness and how I often fail but can succeed at it. It’s easy to get bitter, cynical and most tragic of all mistrusting. When we get into future relationships we find it difficult to be trusting and set up walls and barriers that protect us but prevent real deep and fulfilling relationships.
This post was inspired by reading this sad report about another famous couple coming to the end of their time together. Usually I am not too fussed about news like this, I understand that this is just part of the world we live in. When I consider the details of it though and see how after 25 years together something happens that sees the end of the partnership, it just goes to show how tough faithful and enduring relationships can be.
As you can appreciate at a very vulnerable time in my life where that vital relationship is crucial and I appreciate how much God is needed in my life to remain faithful, the sentiments of this song resonate now more than ever. God help us all.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
