There is something about the concept of praise that is very child-like and simple. I see it often when my girls see something they enjoy – the look on their faces express it and they are eager to run up and say thank you. In fact the oldest one now has the vocabulary to wax lyrical about just how good her daddy is for getting the goodies again. I don’t charge them for it. I don’t push them for it. They offer it voluntarily in the light of the good things they have received.
Counting the blessings that are obvious and subtle there is enough reason to praise. Then when we crown that with the fact that being made in His image it is actually the order of our DNA to be like praise on tap so that good or bad it is on our lips to offer credit to God for being God then it behoves us to make a practice of what we were created to do. As this song so aptly reminds us.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
