I’m sure I’ll do a full update on what’s up with the man cd very soon, but in the meantime just free blogging as it is.
Just wanted to give a little something on the craze of today. I have vague recollections of doing things back in the day to celebrate April 1st. On the whole they were pathetic. At the time they were a good opportunity for a laugh and getting one up on the siblings and friends. Over the years though that which was just a harmless bit of fun started to lose its attractions. Going through the book of Proverbs over the month of March has helped illuminate why.
Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I am only joking!” (Proverbs 26:18, 19)
The point of the day is about fooling others as if we say something to someone to really wind them up only to let them know later that its April Fools, but whose the real fool? What I’ve especially discovered over the month is that the way of wisdom values truth over lies and is far more concerned with eliciting laughters of joy through the wonderful things of life, rather than cheap giggles from embarrassing people. The effort it takes to be clever at the expense of another person is far better used to build someone. So in as much as I enjoy a good laugh like the best of them, I discover I really have no time for the fooling around. Life’s too short and really April is all about the new year and as you’ll see over the month of April it is really is about new life.
