So following the relationship deal, there is something very important about following Jesus and that’s recognising that we cannot make it on our own. Not only do we need others in physical and practical terms, it is reassuring to know that when you cannot do much you can still pray. When I say pray, I’m referring to something far more significant that a platitude and sentiment sent up the big one upstairs. I’m talking about that heartfelt bond with someone else and then triangulating that with God so that just as much as you care for them, you care that God will look after them and at least show allegiance with someone. We may not feel what someone else feels when they go through, but to be able to be there with someone as they walk through it is still valuable beyond price.
