To keep you aware, some of the posts I do have been pre-scheduled sometimes days in advance. Some of them are worked on during the day in a nice neat Word file (OK OpenOffice Writer now) then put up on here. Sometimes however, it’s just good to freestyle blog, almost as if there doesn’t have to be a pre-determined agenda and I can just type as I feel. This is one of those blog entries.
Today as you may have noticed is a Saturday and this is now something like the 7th Saturday of the year and we’ve spent all of them right here at home. This is mostly down to Authrine’s condition, but to be honest, I probably wouldn’t want it any other way. I don’t miss the hype and palaver over going to a building to do some meetings and service type functions. I don’t discredit it, I’m sure I could be back to it in the near future, but for the time being I don’t miss it at all.
I’m not sure if I even miss the people. That’s a tough one, because in a way I love them and will always be fond of the time that I had doing life with them. Yet on the other hand for one reason or another tight, close relational stuff was never really on other than the odd occasion so in essence I’m just missing the routine of seeing them dress up for meetings and service type functions. I am looking forward to doing things slightly differently here where it will be more about visiting others in their homes and having people pop over to our crib and us jam and chill and peruse over the things of life. Whenever I spent the weekend at my brother’s crib that’s what we used to do on a Sabbath and I found that tremendously relaxing and edifying. I am looking forward to doing our version of that up here and making and deepening relationships.
I’m glad that we have two daughters who can have fun with each other as they’re relatively close in age and can enjoy the same things. I’d feel bad if there was only one child, but with there being two they can bounce off each other for the time being. I’m certain over time they will regularly interact with other children as we get familiar with the area and community. They are doing fine so far, though, so I’m really happy about that.
Regarding my family at large and some things have happened this week that really made me reflect on how far we’ve come. I’m 32, my brother is 31 and my sister is 33. We are no longer mild and timid (OK that would never fit Ruth, but just run with it) children at the behest of our parents. We are no longer itchy angsty teenagers squabbling with each other as we go through those growing pains. We are each of us married people with children. We have families of our own. We have set out on our own course of life that have taken us to such different places in our hearts and minds as well as geographically. The ties may remain ever strong, but the dynamic is substantially different and it really is amazing to see how we sometimes converse with each other. I’m grateful to God, however, for those bonds. We have definitely changed and sometimes for the worse and not the better, but overall we remain fiercely loyal to each other and desperate to see the other do what is right and also do well in life.
I am scheduled to be posting some of the LJN audios that have been completed and I’m looking forward to completing those. I was hoping to just post the MP3 files for download, but for whatever reason I cannot do that directly through the blog. I cannot be bothered researching the other means, so I’m putting together YouTube clips that have the audio with suitable visuals that should be posted sooner rather than later.
So life is not too bad at present. Things could be better, things could be worse, but I’m grateful to God that I’m still knocking around and He’s giving me enough motivation to keep on writing and keep on reading and keep on listening and keep on sharing and keep on living and keep on loving. I’m glad about that.
That be all for the free-style-blogging at present, giving you some insight into wotsup with da man cd (that would make an ace web-site name … hold on a minute …). Keep on praying.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
