To The North Staffs YMCA Family

I don’t usually do blog entries about other people … alright I often do blog entries about other people, but I don’t often do blog entries about where I work.  (There see you can’t get me now!)

Today’s a very special day in my time working for the North Staffordshire Young Men’s Christian Association as today is my last day working there.  With the move to Little Hulton (surely I’ve blogged about that) and other changes taking place in the life of dmcd it was inevitable that I would also have to move on from working as a Christian Spiritual Development worker there.

At three and a half years it is the longest I’ve ever worked for a single organisation since I stopped doing child labour was eligible to do full-time paid work and it has been a huge honour to work alongside so many amazing and wonderful characters.  I am so grateful for the support and genuine love that has been shared with me in my time there by the customers and members of staff.  It will always hold a special place in my life.

Though it would be wrong to highlight any individuals (so I’m going to highlight an individual) it would be remiss of me not to express heartfelt thanks to Danny Flynn, not only the big CEO or my line manager, but also a true Christian brother in his concern for my welfare and that of my family.  To have looked out for me even before I joined the organisation and then be a big supporter of all things CSD has made what could have been a nightmare, that much easier to handle.  Much love to Danny who I’m sure will cross along the paths of me journey of life at some point.

Anyhow before we get to blubber city and people require tissues etc. I leave and say farewell, but I do so leaving this message for those who have been such a key part of my life over these last few years.  Stevie sings it best and click here for more treats.

So NSYMCA – shalom.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom

  1. Hi Chris
didn’t know you were going, and sad that i didn’t get to say a personal good-bye. But farewell and God speed – may your God always be close by, supporting, nurturing and strengthening. God Bless, Barbara
